RTD Probes with Transition to Lead Wire - Items tagged as "Pr-11-2-100-1/4-6-e"
RTD Probes with Transition to Lead Wire provideexcellent accuracy with a high level of durability and versatility for rugged and diverse temperature measurement applications.
TheTransition Fittingsprovide the ability to make a transition from the smaller bare wire coming out of the RTD probe to larger diameter, insulated and more durable lead wire designs for diverse applications.
Fittingsare made from Stainless Steel tube and typically 1/4" Inch (.250" or 6.35 mm) or 3/8" Inch (.375" or 9.5 mm) in diameter.
One end of the Metal Tube is firmly crimped or welded to the probe sheath and other end provides the ability to connect a metal spring to ensure Strain Relief of the Lead Wires.
Lead Wires can be 2, 3, and 4 Wire Designs for Pt100 (Platinum 100 ohm) or Pt1000 (Platinum 1000 ohm) RTD temperature measurement circuits.
Insulations - the most utilized design is wire with Fluoropolymer insulation (PFA or FEP) due to the durability, versatility and temperature range from below zero to to 500 F ( 260 C). Fiberglass Braidprovides a higher temperature range to 900 F (500 C) although less durable,at times a protective Stainless Steel Overbraid or Armoured Cable is applied to either insulation.
Wire Construction is typically flexible 26 gage or 24 gage (7/34) stranded diameter made with nickel plated copper. Smaller diameters are used at times with silver or tinned plated copper.
Outside Diametersof the overall insulated wire typically range 0.075" inches (larger than 1/16" or 1.5 mm) to 0.125" inches (1/8" or 3.2 mm). Armoured cable designs have larger diameters, typically 0.188" (3/16" or 4.5 mm)
