A Type K Thermocouple is one of most utilized temperature sensor technologies across the globe due to its wide temperature range -328 to 2300°F (-200 to 1260°C), the ease of use and cost value.

Temperature Range of -328 to 2300°F (-200 to 1260°C)
- Standard Accuracy is (Standard Limits of Error) ± 2.2°C or ± 0.75% whichever is greater in the temperature range of 32 to 2300°F (0 to 1260°C)
- High Accuracy is (Special Limits of Error) ± 1.1°C or ± 0.4% whichever is greater in the temperature range of 32 to 2300°F (0 to 1260°C)
- Low Temperature Accuracy from 32 to -328°F (0 to -200°C) is typically Standard Limits of Error (±) 2.2°C or (±) 0.75% whichever is greater
- Sensor Contructions range from exposed fast response small .010" (.25 mm) diameters to .375" (9.5 mm) or larger diameters with protective sheaths for immersion processes and others special designs for surface or flow temperature measurement.
- The Type K bare thermocouple elements can protected by compacted mineral insulation inside a bendable metal and rigid ceramic sheaths to very flexible fiberglass and ceramic braid or PFA/FEP teflon insulated wire designs.

Type K Thermocouple Probes - with Stainless Steel, Inconel metal sheaths, and Ceramic Alumina Sheaths ranging in diameter from very fine .010" Inch (0.25mm) to rugged .250" (1/4" or 6.35mm). Probe terminations include, miniature and standard size connectors or wire leads
Type K Beaded Thermocouples - PFA, Fiberglass, and Ceramic insulated lead wire with high flexibility, diameters ranging fine 40 gage to rugged 20 gage, and temperature ranges from -326 to 2200°F; micro-beaded exposed weld provides very fast response times.
Type K Surface Thermocouples - stick on and bolt down versions available, with wire diameter ranging from .005" to .020", along with handheld probes; products are commonly utilized for new product development and reliability analysis
