Thermocouple and RTD Probes with a .250 (1/4") diameter sheath are the most utilized design for rugged Heavy Duty temperature measurement applications and can provide longer life expectancy than smaller diameter thermocouple probes.

• Diameters larger than the 1/4" inch probes can be manufactured and are utilized in some industrial applications, although many times the customer prefers to insert a .250" (6.35 mm or 1/4") probe into a protective sleeve or thermowell to accommodate these very heavy duty applications.
