Type B Thermocouple

Type B Thermocouple

Type B Thermocouples provide the Highest Temperature range for Air and Oxidizing environments with a 3,092°F (1700°) temperature on a continuous basis and up to 3,362°F (1850 °C) for short periods of time.

  • High level of accuracy and stability at high temperatures
  • Should not be used in a Vacuum or Reducing atmosphere
  • Temperature Range 32°F to 3,092°F (0°C to 1700°C) - continuous
    • Short term up to 3,362°F (1850 °C)
    • Temperature at 122°F (50°C) and below should be avoided since the thermocouple has the same milivolt output at 32° (0°C) and 108°F (42°C)
    • Typically temperatures of 392°F (200°C) and above is recommended
  • Thermocouple Alloy - positive wire 70% Platinum/30% Rhodium, negative wire 94% Platinum/6% Rhodium.
  • Type U (copper positive and copper negative) thermocouple connectors and thermocouple extension wire can be utilized to accurately transfer the signal from Type B thermocouple probes.
