Type N  thermocouple alloys (postive Nicosil and negative Nisil) were developed to have improved temperature stability and potentially replace Type K along other Base metal thermocouples. (Type J, T and E)

• Temperature Range negative - 454 to 2300°F (-270 to 1,260°C) up to 2,300°F (1260°C)
  • Standard Accuracy  +/- 2.2C or +/- .75%
  • Special Limits of Error: +/- 1.1C or 0.4%
• Type K continues to be the thermocouple of choice in many applications, although Type N from a longevity and accuracy in application greater than 900°C has proven to beneficial in some cases.
